Donna started her career as a decorative
painter in 1992. She has studied many different styles of painting and
has achieved Gold Level as a Jenkins Certified Art Teacher, and Silver
Level with Winsor & Newton/ColArt of America. In 2003 she took two
classes with Mary Owens. Because she found Mary’s Pen & Ink with Oil
Rouging a unique easy technique, she decided, after hearing about the
Teacher Certification Program, she wanted to become one of Mary’s
teachers. She signed up for the program in October and earned her
Certification in November 2005.
Donna is a member of SDP, the
Leatherstocking Decorative Artists, leader for the Northeast Region of
Teachers & Educators of Art Materials, and a charter member of
Artist United. In 2003 she had an article published in The Decorative
Painter magazine. She has published several pattern packets for her easy
style of traditional oil painting.
Her education is on going “you have to keep
ahead of your students to make it interesting for them, so you always need
to learn new and exciting things to do”.
Her love of teaching has enabled her to
travel teach throughout the United States and Canada. Donna’s mission is
to show people how easy and fun painting can be.
She has won several awards, including best
of show in local competition. Her work is represented in several local
galleries, and in private collections in the United States, Canada, and
Japan.
Donna is available for classes in her area,
and enjoys traveling to other areas to teach. You may also contact her
for any of the products in Mary’s line.
