About the Artist

Born in Augusta, Georgia and moved to Miami Florida at age 10, graduated in 1964 from Hialeah High School and attended Florida Southern College. Married William H. Pittard in 1965, and moved to Palm Beach County in 1968. Spent the next twelve years as a devoted wife and mother to three children.

Her interest in art began in 1980 when she first picked up a brush and took up a hobby oil painting, along with another new hobby of racquetball. Within one year of picking up a brush for the first time, Lynne was guided into teaching local classes in simplified oil painting techniques at a local high school. Within her second year of painting she was teaching at three local art leagues, three local continuing education programs at high schools and one at Palm Beach Junior College.

Only three years after beginning to paint Lynne was recognized as an outstanding and dedicated teacher. Her patience and gift of gab made every painting class a fun and enjoyable learning experience. As she evolved as an artist, the subtle and soft effects she achieved in oils made the demand for her classes too much. With the talent God had blessed her with, her passion for painting and sharing it with others, God provided an entrepreneur to her doorstep, who produced and promoted Lynne’s gift of teaching to viewers nationwide FREE through PBS television shows.
