| About the Artist
“As I continue to strive for essence within my
art, I try to challenge myself by exploring multiple subjects in multiple
mediums. In each subject and each medium lie endless light, color,
atmosphere and mood. Through my travels I spend a great deal of time observing,
sketching and photographing the beauty that is as endless as it is precious.
Sharing what lies within me when I gaze upon a wondrous scene brings me almost
as much joy as the expression of “I got it” when a student makes his own
canvas come alive.”
Debbie advanced her studies in the visual medium with undergraduate art courses
and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Catawba College, Salisbury, North
Carolina. Fascinated by the results TV artists captured in method
painting, Debbie certified as an instructor in 1993. Since, she has taught
locally, regionally and nationally. Active in many art associations, Debbie has demonstrated art materials for several art
manufacturers. Debbie maintains a body of work and has held several solos
shows. Her works have won awards both locally and regionally. Nature scenes are
among Debbie’s favorite subjects to paint. She also accepts commissions
for portraits.
