| About the Artist
I started painting in 1990, when I found a class offered in Paris, TX. I
decided to try it, telling myself that if I couldn't do it, I just wouldn't
mention to anyone that I had taken a class. The class was offered by Bill and
Dean Terry, and I was hooked after the first class. Unfortunately, the town of
Paris was not too receptive to the classes, so they didn't come back. I
followed them, traveling a few hours for class. About a year later, Carolyn
Vandeventer had classes in Paris which I attended, and she introduced me to
Lowell Speers, who encouraged me to become certified as an Alexander Instructor.
My only fear was that I couldn't correct my students mistakes, but he told me
"Don't worry. You'll learn how fast! "I was certified in 1993 with
Alexander, and have since taken classes all over the country, mainly with Robert
Warren, a Master Artist with Alexander, who has his own particular style of
painting and teaching that I find both challenging and beautiful. I teach in the
Oklahoma and north Texas area using oils, and mainly Robert Warren's techniques.
I accept commissions for portraits, landscapes, still life, and floral.
