| About the Artist
I was born and raised in Philadelphia , PA. I am now living in Southwest Florida. While living in Philadelphia I was introduced to the world of art over 20 years ago. I first took a series of Bob Ross classes and I was immediately hooked. My instructor Carolyn was certified in landscape, floral, and wildlife. It was very interesting to do a different subject each week. I really enjoyed the wet into wet techniques, I guess that is why oil is still my favorite medium to this day. I have taken lessons from a variety of great artists, such as, Brenda Harris, Bill Blackman, Gingers Edwards, Annette Kawasaki just to name a few.
I am also a member of the Decorative Artist Society of Southwest Florida. I take full advantage of our surroundings here in Florida where subjects can be so varied. I always make sure I have my camera with me ( don't want to miss the perfect bird, wave or flower.) I am a Certified Ross Instructor and I am now teaching oils at Jo-Ann's, I also teach acrylics at Michael's. I love teaching beginning students, they are my absolute favorite. I just get so much pleasure when I hear them say, "Wow, I can't believe I painted that".
