| About the Artist I retired from State government in July of 2001 after 25+ years as a professional engineer and adjunct instructor for Penn State University. In preparation for retirement, I began taking painting workshops with Sue Scheewe instructors in 1989. In the mid 90's I completed Sue Scheewe's certification progam and became a certified Scheewe watercolor instructor.
I have painted in oils for five years. I teach wet-on-wet and dry brush
techniques. For the past three years I have been taking acrylic workshops.
I have attended several workshops and studied from national instructors such
as Brenda Harris, Tony Couch, Tom Lynch, Doroth Dent, Robert Warren, and
Terry Madden. I have also attended many other workshops in oils, acrylics
and watercolors.
I have been instructing for Michael's and the local recreation center. My
most prominent workshops are in Shenandoah National Park. During the summer
I am the guest artist and instructor for monthly, three hour "Introduction
to Watercolor" workshops.
I enjoy sharing my paintings with friends, family and others. My creative
landscapes and seascapes have found homes in PA, VA, DE, WV, OH, England and
Germany. My other interests include amateur radio, bridge and tutoring math
at a local college.
