| About the Artist
I live in Orlando Florida and Plattsburg Missouri.
I come from a family of artists. My maternal uncle was an artist and I
have two nieces that are excellent in drawing as well as painting. My
daughter can draw quite well and has done some painting. My sister, Dora,
paints mostly animals and some landscapes. My brother, Jesse, paints
landscapes.
I was mostly self taught but am now the "forever student". I used to
always paint with acrylics and on any surface I chose. Then I took a
Valerie Steward portrait class and fell in love with oils. I enjoy
watercolors but seem now to always go back to the oils. I am currently
working on certification through Valerie Steward in portraits. I also have
a Donna Dewberry OSCI and Elite certification and Ken Brown Calligraphy Hand
Engraver.
My life is busy. I care for my grand girls, give art classes to nursing
home residents in Kansas City and work with the Alzheimer's special care unit
with a memory art class.
